On 8th June, I will be setting off from London with around 170 other cyclists – The Duchenne Dash – arriving in Paris the following afternoon.  It’s a tough 300km ride covered in 24 hours with very little sleep on the overnight ferry.  The following day, a smaller group of us will be setting off to continue the journey to Monaco – The Duchenne DashMax – taking in some of the Tour de France’s famous Alpine climbs.  We’ll get to Monaco on Saturday 16th June, having covered 1,500km and 20,000m of climbing.  Why are we doing this, you may ask?  Read on…

For a couple of years I have supported an amazing charity, Duchenne UK, that aims to find a treatment and cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a debilitating fatal genetic condition that is primarily diagnosed in childhood and generally affects young boys. If you have 2 minutes and 12 seconds to spare, please watch this video that explains what we do:

Many of the people I will be riding with are parents and friends of affected children and last year we raised £1 million to spend directly on medical research into the condition.  This year, we’d like to raise more!  Please help – even small donations add up:
